In several countries like Germany, France, the Netherlands and Switzerland, there flow rivers that all share the name Aa.

Merely two letters, derived from *ahwō – a Proto-Germanic root simply meaning water, or stream of water – as if they weren’t worthy of a true name. This bizarre nomenclature favours the generic over the specific, the approximate over the precise, the common over the proper name.

Walking and accumulating become means for exploring the banal and its potential to become a place that one could call home, developing a dialogue between fragments of personal geography and the shared world.

This work in the form of book would like to talk about time, space, and time in space, while giving meaning to apparitions, variations, and encounters between reality and the self. Somehow, it is a project on inaccuracy and indecisiveness, whether they are related to photography, geography or experience.
